Hi. Do you have small fine tipped tweezers? They are commonly available from electronic stores. You can probably get a pair from any cellphone repair shop for cheap. Tons on AliExpress.

Using the tweezers, try to remove the broken plastic parts inside the soldered connector on the logic board. It appears that the male and female parts may have been glued?

A suggestion is to clean up each male pin on the logic board and then extract the speaker female pin and mate them directly without the plastic housing.

That is, using the tweezers, lift up the black plastic tab that is holding down each speaker wire. Once you lift up the plastic tab, pull on the color coded speaker wire. The wire will then release and come out of this plastic shell.

Try with one speaker wire and then mate this wire directly with the male connector on the logic board. Repeat for the rest. This solution will not need any soldering.

Option 2: same but cut off the speaker wire, solder tin each and solder onto the pads on the logic board.

Option 3: measure the pin to pin pitch if the speaker connector and share the details. From the pictures, appears to be 2mm pin pitch. You gave 4 pads ar 2mm pitch with 2 outside board locks to secure the connector. With a hot air tool, the connector could be removed but you need a replacement. Let me check around for a similar part while you try to clean up the plastic parts that are broken inside.

I am guessing on the pin to pin pitch at 2.0mm so you should confirm this with a micrometer.

          Believe the following will work,

US $1.59 7%OFF | Horizontal SMD Socket PH2.0 2.0mm Patch Plug Wire Connectors 2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9/10P 2.0 mm Pitch Pin Header JST TJC Connector Male

          https://a.aliexpress.com/_mPaqF9p

You need a SMD 2.0 mm 4 pin JST connector.

Confirm the shape and landing pins. Again, a local macbook or cellphone shop could assist here.

Will check if a branded version is available from Arrow electronics. Search for JST SMD connectors.

Please post all markings for this HP laptop.

Which model? Year? Logic board number?

Re: Speaker input broken hp pavilion notebook

See attached suggestion. Remove one of the speaker wires as noted and then attempt to insert this raw - compression fit female socket directly onto the logic board connector.

              Repeat for each such wire.

Then you could hot glue the contraption to secure the wires.

Pretty sure these wires / socket looks to be glued together.

Hello friend.. I'm so glad you messaged me.. you are exactly the kind of person I was looking for.. you really do know your stuff..
I did try the tweezer thing and some needle nose pliers to no avail..

I'm pretty decent at soldering and have a decent sized solder station.. it was just indeed not knowing the name of the part needed.. I believe you have named it correct.. I will get some more information for you tomorrow regarding the mobo and the series on the laptop but to double check that I order the correct part..

Once done I will try to fix it as you have instructed and thank you by making a donation..

                  Ps I'm in the UK..

Thank you so much for getting back to me and using your time to help me.. I'm very grateful..

Having a hard time nailing down the details of your logic board but have a partial listing on our online service we have at the shop.

In reviewing the assorted HP Pavillion logic boards, a few of them offer p/n for the surface mount speaker connectors.

                          See attached.

Based on searching out two of these parts, each part appears to be a SMD WAFER connector with a 1.25 mm pin pitch. Perhaps what you have is also a 1.25 mm pin pitch SMD connector.

Will not hurt to ask the shop you wish to work with if they can also source this connector @ 1.25 mm pin pitch wafer connector. Mention it is for the HP laptop.

Molex may have this style as well.

Once you receive the part, place the pins - head to head so you can confirm that the pin pitch matches 100%. There is a high probability that you have a 1.25 mm component.

I think I understand everything you said.. I had to read it about 100 times.. but I understand.. we don't have any stores like that where I am in the UK so will be getting the parts online.. I don't think I will be able to find any to match but as long as the pins match like you explain that I will be able to make it work..

Thank you very much for the time and effort you put in to help me.. I will indeed donate to the site.. I haven't got much but will give what I can..

Ps if you can recommend a component I would be eternally grateful..
