ST3151A05-5 T-CON Schematics for Insignia NS-32D201NA14 LED TV

    Hi all -

I have an Insignia NS-32D201NA14 LED TV that i picked up today.
I visually inspected the boards and saw two parts are knocked off from the built-in T-CON.

The T-Con has the labeling "ST3151A05-5" which is built in to the CSOT 32" panel. I found the datasheet for the panel, but no schematics for this T-CON. The panel flex cable is bonded to the T-Con so i can't just replace the board.

One broken part is a resistor, and the other one is an 8-pin SOIC part. The IC markings show "G32 3311" on two separate lines. I can't find this online.

Does anyone have this information? I would be forever grateful!

    Pics are attached.

    Thank you and best regards,
    Thomas

    I fixed the TV.

For IC2: I traced the pad connections and found them to be:

    Pin 1 - Grounded
    Pin 2 - Grounded
    Pin 3 - Grounded
    Pin 4 - Grounded
    Pin 5 - Pulled up to 3.3V through a 1kOhm
    Pin 6 - Pulled up to 3.3V through a 1kOhm
    Pin 7 - Pulled up to 3.3V through a 1kOhm
Pin 8 - 3.3V, with a small ceramic cap, probably 0.1uF/1uF for HF bypass. Most likely a VCC line.

This kinda looks like an I2C EEPROM pinout pin 5,6,7 could be SDA, SCL and WP.. Pin 8 is probably VCC. One of the pins on 1-4 is GND, the other three could be the EEPROM ADDR[0:2] select.

Looking at my original post, you see that pin 2 off of IC2 was broken off. Since the board connections indicate Pins 1-4 are all connected to GND, I globbed some solder to bridge pins 1, 2 & 3 together so they are all tied low.

As far as the broken resistor goes, the SMT markings on top says "1R0" - a 1ohm resistor. This is in series with a small value cap to GND. Probably a snubber circuit for pins coming out of the P28P 5562A IC at left. I'll get a replacement 1ohm 0603 resistor this week and solder it on. If it is a snubber circuit, it's not crucial for operation.

I fired up the TV as-is, and it worked!

Fixed. Thread closed. (i'll get that SMT resistor later...)

Okay.. Update 2. I found out why those two components busted off. Pictures speak for themselves.

      See attached.

I realized this after i was reassembling the chassis today.

It's surprising how many times I've seen this also. People don't realize what happens when you put extended screws into a TV. Nice fix!
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

Right?!? I'm just happy the original owner didn't open it up!

The owner originally said the screen turns white on the Craigslist post -- most likely the T-CON ribbon cable was loose.

When i went to pick it up, he said the TV now does the lines on the screen.

My bet is that he originally had the TV hung up on the wall, and found random screws to reinstall the base that morning before i picked it up.

¿Did someone know how to mirror the picture throw the t-con ST3151A05-8?

I think you'll have better luck starting your own thread instead of changing topics at the end of this one that i posted/solved March 2018.

Dell 2209WA - power supply - Fusible Resistor replacement
                by jinu_j
                Hi

I am trying to repair an ancient Dell 2209WA Monitor which suddenly shut off with a pop sound. On investigation found that one of the fusible resistors had blown. Further investigation identified multiple components as faulty because of which the fusible resistor blew. Please refer the attached circuit diagram showing the components that were found to be damaged.

                1. FR950 - blown fusible resistor - 0.2 Ohm 1W
                2. Q950 - shorted Q950 MOSFET - 650V 10A N Channel Mosfet
                3. R835 - Blown Resistor - 20KOhm SMD resistor
                4. D930 - Shorted Schottkey Diode...

TCL 50S535 bad tcon or panel issue?
                by x_orange90_x
Just bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

Need help to replace burned resistor in 350w atx psu
                by mikey5791
                Hi to all forum members,

Got this faulty 350 watt atx psu dirt cheap from a local online seller as i am keen to use it as a learning tool to repair faulty power supply.
The faulty part is quite obvious from the burn area near the 16pin KA7500 BD pwm. The fuse is still intact with good continuity.

Upon power on ac, there is 5vdc standby power on cathode of diode D14 and about 10vdc on cathode of diode D13.(This should be the aux power to generate the 12v and 5v rail.)
Initially i replace the two burned resistors near my marked red arrow to 200 ohm resistor...

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
                by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

Can a resistor lose resistance after hot air?
                by MidnightRoller
I am curious if a 0402 resistor could go from 43 ohm to 0. In electronics class and my experience a resistor can degrade and gain resistance all the way up to not being able to conduct at all. I have never heard of a resistor decreasing in resistance and becoming 0 ohm or a dead short… that's not the direction they fail… or so I thought.

I was attempting to remove a wson8 chip on an iMac motherboard and it required a lot of heat, on one side of the chip were 3 0402 resistors that were very close. I popped the chip out unintentionally out of the tweezers and sent those resistors...
