Dell N4010 Does not power on.

I have no rsmtst or sus_on EC . Looking at the power sequence I don't understand if the above two are generated even before power button on present or not.

We have 3.3 on EC , bios has been flashed as well. PSID is present , ACOK is present. 3.3 ALW present. Presing power button does not enable sus_on or rsmrst

      PQ 6
      Pin 1 : 3.3 Volt
      Pin 2 : 0
      Pin 3 : 0

      Pq 5
      Pin 5-8 : 3.3
      Pin 1-4 : 0

PS - This board came to us with PQ32 as short.

There is no FL1 or PQ1 on this board.

                All voltages for PQ 20/21
After Remove all power, meter in resistance mode.

Check the usual mosfet measurements to confirm the dcin mosfets are not defective.

                Source & drain
                Source & gate
                Gate & drain

Post each resistance value and also the scale used on your meter.

                Thanks mon2

Will post resistance tomorrow morning as store is closed now. We do have 19V or pwr_Src and also 3.3 always and 5 ldo is also present. +15 v always is also present

@lapfix, re-read post#3 as it has a clue. PQ32 was shorted for some reason(probably overcurrent load). What is the resistance on PL9 coil(meter in 200K scale)? Measure the resistance without any power source.

On Resistance mode ( 200K rage)
                        PL9 input side : 130K
PL 9 output side : 10K ( keeps increasing if you continue to keep the probe attached )

                        Thanks

since there is no rsmrst, you need to confirm standby pgood voltage is available, confirm sio requirements like lid_switch, ecrst, acin to sio, batlow# , clk32.7khz

remember rsmst will generate from sio to pch,and pch will release the slp_s3# and s4# to sio and then sus_on , run_on will be generated.

if no rsmrst after checking sio requirements, reprogram the ec bios don't forget to chech impedance.

I dont have a CRO so not sure how to check clk. I will return shortly with the SIO requirement values

Focus on LID_SW#??. It should be 3.3V. Remove the LID switch and check again.

Though CRO is needed, but in absence of the tool you can measure on pads of crystal with Dmm for voltage. The two pads should differ by 0.2-0.3V between them. This will give you a rough idea whether clock is generated or not though waveform could be an issue.

                                    According to the schematic +3.3V_SUS generates the LID_SW#. I don't have +3.3V_SUS

If there is a power sequence pls always follow the power sequence ,that should be your guide even though you need to know other basic requirements.

Check on page 45 of the schematic, the block diagram is numbered.

                                      That's the power sequence,follow it.

Unlike other mobo,on this the 3.3v_alw will come before 5v_sus.
Follow the sequence on page 45

I didn't check the schematic untill now, your best bet is the power sequence unless it is not given on the schematic.
