    Re: Thorn 65thl4kst1

Good pickup... I am using my friends new Meter, but again, no beeper. Battery is strong, illuminating it's LCD screen very well. Today's measures are off this new device.

I believe it's indicating it's out of range, those caps are higher than 200 ohm resistance, not shorted.
Turn the range up to double check.

What setting would you recommend I use please?

          Re: Thorn 65thl4kst1

I have been able to source a T-Con board at a very cheap price.

On other threads that I have read, I have seen comment, not to attach a new T-con without checking that a faulty smd on the edge board is there, as this will likely blow the fuse on the t-con, rendering it faulty again?

Can someone expand to me, as to what they reckon I could prove/determine without damaging the t-con?

          Thank you.

I see him at 4'30" measuring these.
One time he has probes one way, at end the other way around.
What way do I set up my meter to duplicate what he is doing, and would he be doing this with standby power, or totally unplugged?

                Measure with power off.
If he's reversing probes then I'd guess his meter is in diode mode.

Which is diode mode on this meter?

                  Thanks

I have also found, that a "Skyworth 65G9200 – 65 inch 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV" seems to be a clone of my tv....I hope this may help us somehow?

                        Thanks

I also chased this down from numbers on the back of the panel.

It appears I have stumped everyone with my issue.

I guess some faults must be harder than others to give guidance on.

As there were no other hints I have put this away, until maybe someday, I read somewhere, that someone has a similar problem, and a fix is found.

I am about to play with this tv again

Back to post 20, I put up these pictures, attached.

The white screen when powered up, and a half screen with a t-con ribbon removed.

Can anyone tell me, which t-con lead unconnected, would have given the half screen, as I can no longer repeat that when swapping ribbons, to connected or unconnected.

                                      Thank you

PLEASE...at 4.35 mark of this video...

How do you determine that it is this piece that was faulty.

Do you have to test pins both ways to determine so?

If you get the same reading by swapping your multi-meter prongs on opposite ends, and the reading is the same, does this determine it is bad?

                                        Thank you.

                                          Hi,
Ok you well learned persons, I now request your assistance again, please

I now have acquired another exact same model model tv as my faulty one but it has a broken screen

Knowing that my original tv is only showing backlights and no video ( please read all my earlier dialogue), which way would you go on me cannibalizing the parts from the broken screen one, and into my one which has backlights only .

In my haphazard attempts previously, I have been told that faulty smd's on the 4 edgeboards may result in blowing replacement tcon boards, so what way should I reconnect everything to avoid such a mishap, and not end up shorting out the replacement bits that I now have....

                                          Thank you.....
