I have been looking at trying to repair the console for my parents' exercise bike but believe I may have hit a brick wall and just wanted to put it out there in case someone more experienced than myself can see something I am missing. I could not find a schematic for the board.
I found a capacitor I believed was the culprit (marked in image) but when I removed it it was still showing a short and the cap tested okay. It was the only short on the board and came directly from the main chip so in my mind it is the chip that has gone and thus unrepairable. Am I right in this logic or missing something?
