I'm guessing that the panel is faulty, but I've never seen one do this before. Can anyone confirm this before I sell it for spare parts.

Re: Toshiba 58UL2B63DB Suspected Bad Panel
My pictures show what happens in sequence when turning on from cold. In the final one the picture freezes and the screen goes about 90% black, the sound carries on working normally, this all happens within a minute or so.
Squeezing the bezel at any point makes no difference.
TCON BOARD is CCPD-TC575-009 V1.0 STCON676G
VCC = 3.2v
VCOM L = 6.9v
VCOM R = 4v
AVDD = 0v
VGHIN = 0v
VGL = 1v

Re: Toshiba 58UL2B63DB Suspected Bad Panel
seems like it, I would test all the little caps on the tcon, with panel driver board cables unplugged, if you don't find any short plug cables back in and test again, also test the caps on the panel driver board, with tcon to panel cables unplugged, test diode/continuity mode, one probe on ground, chassis ground is ok, other probe on each side of cap, one side should beep or read close to 000, other side should not beep or have a reading. Can also test for very low ohms.

Re: Toshiba 58UL2B63DB Suspected Bad Panel
I can't find any shorted caps on the T-con board when plugged or unplugged form panel driver board. The caps on the right side panel driver board all test good when unplugged from the T-con board. The caps on the left side panel driver board can't be tested as there is no ground when unplugged from the T-con board but test ok when plugged into the T-con board.

Re: Toshiba 58UL2B63DB Suspected Bad Panel
vertical stripes or partial vertical stripes can be tcon issue. maybe cleaning the ribbon cables going to panel might help, some use pencil eraser some use q-tip and isopropyl alcohol, not to vigorous they can be delicate, be sure and let it dry a while. Check the side going to the mainboard too.Last edited by nomoresonys; 05-13-2022, 02:51 PM.

Re: Toshiba 58UL2B63DB Suspected Bad Panel
I tried the tape method using a paper strip just wide enough to cover 8 contacts. The TV works now with no problems. I watched these two videos to help.
Thanks for everyone who helped.

Re: Toshiba 58UL2B63DB Suspected Bad Panel
Looks like I have a similar problem. How did you figure out which are the clock lines, they are not marked. Have tried second one in and the next 7 from both ends of the connector. No difference at all. Only spare boards available in the uk are from china. Any advice really appreciated

Re: Toshiba 58UL2B63DB Suspected Bad Panel
Additional to last post. My Tcon is CCPD-TC575-009-V1.0. This is very difficult to find. Anyone know if any other boards will fit. There seems to be a few different ones all shown as suitable for this model, but not sure if any of these versions will work, mine is 2009 I think
