    X101ch asus, battcon

    This is old netbook I want it for Kali linux for Wifi hacking. This one does not have schematic nowhere online. Only boardviews. Mine is X101CH v3.2

    BAT_CON 1.053V
    B_BAN_IN# 3.24V

    I have my suspecion about stuff

    How do I go about digging to the bottom of this rabbit hole without schematics??? I'm not that experienced.

    At least maybe schematic off of something similar?

    Plz help.

    P.S. & edit..
    1.053V which I"m getting on BAT_CON comes off CHARGE MANAGE IC.
    PU8802
    of off pin 18 P_CHG_HIDRV_20
    It goes to PQ8802 n-mosfet

    and then I'm not sure, but on on the other side of PQ8802 I got 19.2 volts.

    I'm assuming I need voltage more than 1.053V on BAT_CON to get that thing charging?

    Uhm what's the issue here to begin with? I assume the battery is not charging?
    Please share the board view with us so we don't have to search it

      Here you go with the board view. My board is 3.2.. yes the battery is not charging.

        Did you try another battery…?

          Is BAT_CON the positive battery connection? Throw the battery away and get a new one if the whole pack is at 1.053V.

            That voltage... 1.053V was measured without battery.

            I asked another member with this same mobo to measure voltages with battery off and he got this

            voltage on this mosfet = 18.37

            He got 18.37 volts (battery off) while I got 1.053 volts (battery off).

            My battery is good man. I took it apart and charged each element separately, they are all good.

            I suspect this mosfet in the last pic.

            This pic, I'm getting 1.053 volts.. and it should be 18.37 volts.

            This pic I'm getting 3.24 volts and it should be 1.86 volts

            So I'll be replacing this mosfet and reporting back shortly.. After 4th of december lol.

                  Please measure the Gate, Drain & Source voltage on the fet. @jasko_jacker already asked about the gate voltage.

                        Gate voltage is way too low. It is not "turned on". Your fet is most likely fine. Things to try:
                        Take the fet off and measure gate pad on the board again.
                        Trace back which component drives the gate and start troubleshooting there.

                        I can't open fz files on openboardview so I can't tell you what controls the fet.

                          Re: X101ch asus, battcon

                          the voltage to charge the battery comes from
                          two mosfets PQ8802 and PQ8803 (to check)
                          as you can see from the diagram the main component is the BQ24725.
                          When ACDET pin voltage falls below 3.15V and above 2.4V,
                          ACOK -> HIGHT
                          BATFET -> OFF
                          ACFET -> ON
                          RBFET -> ON
                          CONDITION TO CHARGE:
                          1 - Charge is enabled via SMBus -> IT INVOLVE FIRMWARE
                          2 - ILIM pin voltage higher than 105mV -> PU8802 P_CHG_ILIM_10 ->?
                          3 - ACOK is valid -> HIGHT -> ?
