    17 inch NECmonitor

    I have a 17 inch NEC crt monitor that has lost its display, there is a constant clicking sound when monitor is power on, the sound appears to be coming from the flyback transformer, I attempted to discharge the high voltage anode, and there was no stored voltage present, double checked with voltmeter, reading 0 volts, is this normal, or is there no voltage getting to the anode, I did the check with monitor unplugged of course. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    if its the one i am thinking of the h.o.t. is shorted and the converter fet is also.
    caused by bad solder joints on the h-driver transformer and fly.
    fet=2sj306
    hot=2sc5047.
    beware of fakes!
