    toshiba satellite a305-s6825

    a friend of mine found this laptop in the garbage with a busted screen so i replaced the screen put it all back together pushed the on button and went straight a screen that says (enter current password) it wont let me into the bios or boot menu or safe mode just straight to those words any ideas would be great thanks

    good luck with that. Most laptops have the information for the bios on a EPROM chip that stores it permanently, so trying to remove the bios battery will not work. You could try contacting the manufacturer or do a search on something like google and see if there is a hack to get around that. I have heard of different ones but have never tried any myself so I can not say if they actually work or not. But the manufacturer may have a over-ride password for you to get in.

      Try removing the hard drive. It may be a hard drive password and not a boot password.

        i think it was toshiba,

        There was a place you can jump on the MB that erases the cmos,

        the one i did was not jumpers, it was to jump one solder spot to another.

        id try google for further investigation on such method
