    Lenovo Yoga 500-15IBD-80N6 screen problem

    I have very strange problem with this laptop, thought it was problematic discrete graphics chip, so I disabled it, but the problem persists and at this moment I am kinda confused what to do next, never faced such problem. Is it display (with touch) issue or motherboard issue, or perhaps bit of both?

    It is worth mentioning that after disabling discrete GPU, HDMI worked ok, but CPU was stucked on 499Mhz, perhaps because battery wasn't attached.

    Mainboard= 14217-1M
    S/N=R90HK9QW
    GPU=N16V-GM-B1
    CPU=SR240-i3-5020U

    Pictures, schematic and boardview in attachment.

    How was HDMI before disabling discrete GPU?

      Like on the picture, but strange, now HDMI works fine... I reenabled the GPU and it's all fine with HDMI, but the eDP screen remains same, with or without discrete GPU.

        So test another screen cable and another screen too.

          Don't have either, will have to order new ones, which are not cheap, that's why I wanted second opinion.

            If there is a local screen shop, you can take the disassembled laptop there and ask them to test a compatible screen on the laptop. then buy it of it worked.
            Does the display get normal at some point if you slowly move the lid up or down or if you move the screen cable?

              Just talked to the owner, he admitted that he punched the screen and this happened. I don't know why people lie about the history of the device... BTW, no store has this display in my place, everyone is bying on demand from another country. For the display cable, it remains the same in any position. Thank you for your help anyways.

                So the cable is probably fine.
