    Ahhh, yes, that makes sense. Used CH341A but with clip. D'oh. I was under the assumption that if the chip detected properly and the read appeared to complete without error and verified, then it should be fine. Will desolder and try flashing your BIOS again.

        Fucking SOIC clip. Damn, try to save a few minutes and end up wasting hours. Thanks peste, your BIOS worked once I soldered directly to CH341a.

          Well, I hope this will be a lesson for many members that use the clip and do in system reading and programming. Never ever use the clip.
          I don't provide help for people using CH341A and a clip.

            Yes, I've used it many times and never had an issue but this experience has put me off it for good. Thanks all.
