    Hannspree hf257hpb

Rescues from the town dump. Some slight scratches on the screen but barely there.

Plugged it in and got a faint red tint that went away over about 5 seconds. Monitor would then turn off after anywhere from 10 to 30 seconds. Repeated several times.

No obvious bad caps. Here is the power board. Thanks in advance

Not sure where I should post my request, so I'll start here.

      Monitor: Hannspree HF257HPB
I ordered a kit of capacitors for the power supply. I got anxious to get the job done and removed all the capacitors thinking there would be instructions with the kit. Now I have a kit of 12 capacitors and a power supply board with 24 holes. I'm hoping someone here could post a picture with the capacitor values included.

      TIA,

        Maybe this will help.

Thanks, but I don't see any values in your images.

          ??

Surely someone out there could find the time to help this Senior (82) get this job done.

Who did you buy the kit from? They should surely have instructions somewhere... Did you try to contact them and ask them?

Have you got the old capacitors ? what are the values for the new ones ?
I can identify a 50v 10uf cap as one nearest to the white connector, bottom right in your first photo. I can't see any more values but perhaps we can work it out from the photos.

                    Re: Hannspree hf257hpb

                    Here's the list of values;
                    3 - 10V 1000μF
                    3 - 25V 470μF
                    2 - 25V 330μF
                    1 - 10V 470μF
                    1 - 50V 47μF
                    1 - 50V 22μF
                    1 - 50V 10μF

I have been able to place the top three values. I think the one you are referring to is probably the 470μF/10V.

That just leaves the three remaining 50V caps.

                    I attached current image.

Here's the location of the 10uf.

That leaves c120 and c230 with c230 looking to be a slightly taller cap.

Not kidding, unless there's something I don't know.
Amazon is just a marketplace. Whoever you bought the capacitors from is just selling through them.

They would have had to have a list of the capacitors to know what values to get for the kit.

Find out the seller and you can probably contact them and they should be able to tell you what capacitors go where.

                        Guessing you bought this: http://www.amazon.com/Hannspree-HF25.../dp/B00KYVYMNG

Which seems likely supplied by http://lcdalternatives.com/ whom you can contact: http://lcdalternatives.com/ContactUs.aspx and I would be surprised if they couldn't tell you.

                          That must make C120 = 50V 22μF.

Thanks diff I'll solder them and see what happens.
