Identify capacitor C47B on Polaroid 200-P00-HIVI150H power supply/inverter board

    Hi everyone
    I need to replace capacitor C47B (C47B Capacitor.JPG) on the power supply/inverter board 35-860-AZ0-IPOS150H (200-P00-HIVI150H) (200-P00-HIVI150H.JPG) of the Polaroid TLX-03210B.
The capacitor is burnt and therefore I cannot figure out what replacement I need. Does anyone have any idea what the specs on this capacitor is or where I can purchase a replacement?
Thank you all in advance for your input/help

I would think its the same as c46a, or maybe even c44, looks like there are 2 identical circuits, the one with the blown cap. and the other off of T4
maybe a .01 at 2kv or something like that, get the numbers off the other blue caps in the 2 Hv output circuits

Thanks R_J for your suggestion. The other two near it are CH 10J 3KV. I took some alcohol to the burnt one and can make out that it is also the same.
Now I just have to find a replacement. I should be able to find one now that I have the specs.
      Again, thanks R_J

Here is what you need, have you checked for S/C on the driver transistors ?

          Hi ReeceyBurger123,
Not sure what you mean by "S/C".
The link http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_fr...+10kv&_sacat=0 has the numbers reversed (3J 10KV instead of 10J 3KV), but it lead me in the right directions. Thanks

            s/c = short circuit

              Thanks stj for the clarification.
ReeceyBurger123 I have not checked any further than this capacitor. When the TV comes on the screen comes on and off three times and then this capacitor starts smoking.
OK. I know that the capacitor is 10pF 5% tolerance 3,000 volts. Does any one know what the "CH" stands for in "CH 10J 3KV"?

Looks like its temp. compensation, I would'nt worry too much about it.
If c47b and c44 are in parallel I would remove c47b and see if the display stays on. It should not hurt anything for a short period, 10 - 20 sec. the high voltage must be working or the bad cap would not be smoking.
I'm sure this from digikey would work 1247PH-ND

take the cap out and meter it for resistance.

                    Great call R_J
Though c47b and c44 are NOT in parallel, I removed c47b and the TV works just fine without it. I noticed before that there is NO corresponding c46b and was curious why. There is a corresponding capacitor for c44, but not c47b. Either way it works fine. I will replace it anyway just to be on the safe side.
                    Thanks everyone for your help!

For anyone interested, I found this capacitor tutorial very helpful. On page 6 it explains what the CH stands for in "CH 10J 3KV".

As you can see the 47b is connected between GND and the high Voltage output of the inverter transformer. I would not keep running without the cap in place, it is there for reason.

Thanks budm. I only let the tv run without the capacitor long enough to see that the tv works without it.
