    Identify chips HP 15-da0503sa EPK50 LA-G073P

Anyone know what these chips are? Both are a little warm to the touch on a water damaged board that isn't powering on and I have no schematic for it. Nothing else gets warm on the board (thermal cam only those 2 chips are yellow, everything else purple)

The laptop is HP 15-da0503sa and the motherboard is EPK50 LA-G073P

2nd chip markings "BAC" is a Sylergy SY8288C, integrated 5V regulator.
First chip I dunno, most likely a similar chip, maybe 3V regulator.
They will get slightly warm when working. Make sure they output some voltage.
You can probably use LA-C881P for the pinout of the second chip.

      Thanks Piernov,

Customer took the laptop back for a while but it's back in my hands again and indeed there is something up with those chips - both the 3v and the 5v are showing 6.8v and 7v respectively on their pin 1.

Pin 1 is bootstrap pin according to LA-C881P schematics.
It's normal that it has a higher voltage than output. If the output voltage is fine then there's nothing wrong with those chips.

Ah I see, thanks very much - I never would've been able to work that out by looking at the schematics which clearly say 3v on that line. Very confusing! I realise I need to spend some time reading and understanding component datasheets in order to understand board schematics.

Not aware of any available schematics. Proceed to remove all power.

              Meter in resistance mode.

Check & post the resistance to ground on the referenced 3v3 rail.

Also post clear and zoomed up pics of the local regulator that creates this rail. What are the markings on the regulator ?
