Working on Apple iPad Pro 9.7" A1673.. By mistake plugged in the LCD/Touch connectors when the battery was still screwed in. At once smoke started to come out of one of the caps & burnt a circuit trace... Cannot figure out where this trace goes. In the background all works fine, I can hear the sound & connects to the coumpter too. Anyone having the schematic for this, would greatly appreciate. Thanks in advance

Re: Apple iPad Pro 9.7" A1673
For specific issues like no screen due to connecting LCD while hot, look for YouTube videos specifically addressing coil and diode replacement in the backlight section. I have nothing on this model either and faced with bat to ground bus short. There are several ones out here that might give you a clue where to look as the YouTubers usually have full board views they show in the video or they at least identify the components in the video which is basically what is needed. Best of luck to the searches for this boardview, I would be interested in as well.Last edited by piernov; 10-13-2022, 05:16 AM.Comment

Working on an Apple iPad Pro 3rd Generation 12.9" that has a weird issue. When the display is NOT connected, the iPad will charge and power on normally. I know it's on because I can hear notification sounds and the charging notification sound.
If I connect a brand new display to the logic board, the iPad will not turn on at all. When I connect the iPad to an 18W wall charger and a USB-C ammeter, I can see that the iPad is attempting to charge, but constantly "resets" after just a moment or two.
For example, when I connect the iPad to... -
by a_p3rsonHi there,
I'm looking for anyone who might have information on Apple's embedded Apple Watch charging daughterboard, ID 820-02601. This is currently used by Anker in their Apple Watch charging products, but likely by other Apple partner brands as well.
You can see the board referenced in ChargerLab's teardown of the Anker Y1811 3-in-1 MagSafe cube - they discuss the "Apple Watch wireless charging circuit" about 2/3rds down the page. It's not pictured, but the board ID reads 820-02601-A, which sure sounds like Apple.
This daughterboard uses an interesting...-
