Hi there! I have same problem. maybe it is videochip? but its comes with cpu together...
or if its a bios, we should find a working sample with new version and grab it from the chip, right? have you found one?
so, i've solved the problem.
you should use standard hp's application for BIOS upgrade, and choose there an option - save BIOS (for advanced users). then, need a blank flash drive with fat32. copy all files with names *.bin and *.s12 to the flash drive, root. then put flashdrive in usb of broken HP laptop.
put away adapter and battery. press on the keyboard windows+B, hold, plug in the charger, and then, keep pressing all these buttons, press Power. after it turns on - release buttons.
bios will upgrade.
Thanks for sharing this information. I am sure it will be valuable to HP users.
So I am understanding that the Bios battery is what upgrades the bios if both battery and adapter is disconnected.
lab10 how did you see SAVE bios for asdvanced user if laptop is with black screen ? donwloading update from hp site , simple gives me the insydeflash.exe , extracting it , there is the crisis recovery folder , and some bin files . wich files did you had , becaseu outside crisis folder there are around 4 bins , and insyde the recovery folder there are many files.
