tps51285 can be replaced with tps 51225. i have done it succesfully on asus mb TP550

hello, I am in the same situation. I have the tps 1285a and can only get the tps 1285b. Are they the same? We all come across asus ROG laptops? If so, was the overheating a give away?

tps51285 can be replaced with tps 51225. i have done it succesfully on asus mb TP550

This idea didn't work well on a ASUS UX550GD - High Side Mosfet for 3.3V rail kept burning.

It works. you may have problem in load side. Remove the IC and check resistance on LDO lines. Do check all the fets for short.
