NeoProgrammer software is used with the CH341A SPI programmer. If you havn`t got a CH341A it aint gonna work. If you do have a CH341A then why would you backup using "universal backup toolkit" .What model is the acer that you`re working on ,the "universal backup toolkit" software will not backup the full bios on newer models
      .

I do have a ch341a but Ive been trying in vain to get a read using a pomona soic clip.(not so good at soldering (bad nerves)
I have a donor board that is ok so thought to use boot kit to create a bios back up. It gives me a rom file.
The board is Acer Aspire 3 A315-22 - NB8607. Unfortunately acer only provide an executable bios which needs windows up and running and i dont know how to convert that to bin.Just to add I have attached the bios file from acer if anyone knows how to convert it to bin

            Re: acer bios question

Here is what I was able to get out, it looks like it might not be a complete bios. Try to read your own at least three times, all should be identical. Your own bios bin is essential to "fix" it.

Its a phoenix TDK bios.Extract it using the command line .

              With the CAP file delete block 0 - 317 (L = 318) ,then select block 0 - 7FFFFF (L = 800000) .Its an 8MB update i think .

How to extract and edit a Lenovo Phoenix TDK Bios - https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=80861

Thanks for the lesson, I looked for BIOSIMG but couldn't find anything. This is why I like this forum. I used Bios utilities from platomav.

I don't provide help for people using CH341A and a clip.
