Dell LA-G341P - turns on and off

    Hello
got this board with a broken DC connector. does not post.

Found a burned resistor in the Power Supply ID line burned.

Basically the symptom is that board turns on, keys light up, and shuts off few secs after.
Power supply goes up to 1.2 amps, and drops to 0, as seen in video

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1W5X...ew?usp=sharing

I believe the broken DC in connector caused the problem, and the burned resistor in the PS_ID line, confirms something went wrong on that line. something 19v wrong

Has anyone the Boardview file so I can check the components on that line?

Most likely the MEC IC was damaged, what do you guys think?

I replaced the resistor, still same behaviour.

If someone can share the boardview would be great.
Theres a post with a file, but seems corrupted as I cannot open it with any boardview program

    Thanks for any help!

The kbc (MECxxxx) must be replaced before proceeding further. Howver, I'll suggest to remove the KBC, clean the pads and then check PS_ID signal-just to be sure.Else new kbc may also be fried.

          Thanks for the input.
I will, as soon as I get one.

Are them programmed and have to be harvested from same model donor board?
          Or can be purchased?

          Thanks for the help

MECxxxx dont needs to be programmed as long as the kbc is new and blank. They get auto programmed on 1st boot.

              Thanks for the info!
I will get one and see how it goes.

Still I would love to have a boardview to support me on this repair.
              Anyone?

It will open with Allegro free physical viewer 17.2 .The password to open it is in the file name 0000lag341

                    Hello!
Got the MEC IC in stock

So I measure PS_ID and I had several Kohms so I replaced kbc.
PS_ID is 3.4V which I think is fine

However, the machine turns on goes to 1.2 amps a few seconds and shuts off. Power led stays on 3-4 seconds after it shuts off , and then goes off also.

I see the PCH heating up a bit in a specific side of the die.
I also have a fairly low resistance in the 1V PCH line 45 ohms.

Could it be a bad PCH also?

I see most of the coils getting power, cpu and gpu coils get the expected voltage when the machine powers up a few seconds.

Given this, should I bother getting an new intel Chipset?

                    Thanks for any advice

I don't think it's soc fault. Strongly suggest to flash clean me bios.

Well Ive done that before replacing the KBC and it did not change anything...
I also have a pretty low resistance in the cpu coils.
2 ohm or a bit less.

Was expecting a low reading, but still a bit higher than 2 ohms
But maybe its still good for these cpus.

Maybe its a board for parts if I dont see what else to do here.

This is perhaps 8th gen model. Resistance at cpu coils should be 5 ohms or more in my opinion but not 100% sure about it. Repaired a dell 3567 yesterday with 7th gen cpu and it was showing 4.8ohms at cpu coils and 14 Ohms at VCCSA.
