    SS-600ET PSU Chirping

I have a PC Power & Cooling Silencer Mk III 600W that chirps constantly and increases in frequency along with load. At first I was convinced it was the fan, but the noise is there even with the fan disconnected.

I could upload an audio snippet somewhere, but it is the exact same sound found here (be careful with headphones): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0A-dxoFItQ

Based on a little Internet research, this model is supposedly based on the Seasonic SS-600ET platform (aka. Seasonic S12II Bronze): https://www.jonnyguru.com/blog/2011/...ower-supply/4/

Does anyone have any experience fixing this issue?
Despite the annoying sound, it still works quite well. Thanks!

      Re: SS-600ET PSU Chirping

After months of operating with this annoying chirp, today it just mysteriously vanished.

I was able to find at least one report of a fix for a similar model. The owner replaced a couple suspect SMD resistors:
      https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/t...-whine.250088/

Perhaps it's a bad solder joint, that is now making a connection after my recent fiddling.

Because this unit is in service, I have yet to inspect the bottom side of the PCB. I have another Seasonic that requires RMA, so as soon as it's back, I'll have a closer look at this chirping unit.

EDIT: There is also this thread where someone removed and reapplied the conformal coating to resolve a similar issue: https://www.eevblog.com/forum/repair...ise/msg747976/
