    Toshiba A300 sudden shotdown/restart

    Hi
    My laptop is shouting-down suddenly even if i remove the battery, but with the battery its working great. so i changed the PSU n still, so what should i do?

    It is nec tokin capacitor problem in cpu vrm circuit...

      Look my dad have the same prob but with samsung, but with him its shoutingdown even with the battery or without it, so what do u think?

        i dont know...could be a lot of things...check for dust in cooler area...it might be temperature based shutdown...

          attention also some samsung models do have nec and make this problems to occur,

            It is definately NEC Tokin that needs replacing. Had same issue with almost all L300 A300 Intel models I have seen. There is also a topic that explains how to do replacing it with solid caps instead if you don't have exact part.

              I did the same tests like i did to my TOSHIBA (with or without battery and with or without PSU). so if its not TEMP prob what could it be?

                    Various reasons depending on usual faults that could happen in particular model.
                    Like in the older HP DV5 (the silver one) one of the reason of sudden shutdown after running few seconds was due to a shorted mosfet.
                    But as for A300/L300, unless some physical damage, the common issue is NEC TOKIN. The common symptom is that when using charger it is unstable and crashes to blue screen, freezes when left idle, or reboots at random locations (the symptom keeps changing between these three on same laptop)

                      so the best way is to change TOKIN in the samsung and see?

                        hello everyone
                        Today i got time to replace my toshiba A300 nec\tokin cap with 4 330uF 2.5V.
                        I solder the + of the cap to the outer line and the - to the inner line and i putted back every thing and...... BOOOOOM NOTHING HAPPENED.
                        At first it did power up but without display and after a min i powered off the laptop and now it wont power on and with no LEDS
                        WHAT DID I DO WRONG!!!!!!!

                        i 4got to take pics. sorry.

                              Here some pics
                              And i saw that i shorten the second down left cap😢 and i got it out and checked it ohm and diod mode and nothing is showing, checked ohm on MB and the inner line shows 0.4ohm and outer 6.8ohm. So there is hope for me?
