Bios of dell latitude 5410 is corrupted
I test with another Laptop work fine but serial number is incorrect

Not good , bad serial and locked bios

I explained myself badly in the post above.
My original bios is corrupted, I put another one for testing and the PC works now.
but the numbers are not good.
I need to put this number back to 4VBTP73

Hello everyone, I was not able to get a working bios for this Dell but I have seen here the same model has 16MB and 8MB instead of the 32MB. Can I replace the 32 with 16MB and 8MB and use Winbound soic (W25Q128 and 64)instead of XMC and it works?

Dell Latitude 5410 BIOS Help

Hi,
Details of laptop below:

Make: Dell
Model: Latitude 5410
Service Tag: 4TFYN73
Board Model Number: FDZ41 LA-J372P Rev 1.0

Issue:
Laptop came in for BIOS password removal. I used my EZP 2010 which seemed to detect the chip okay, but it actually only read 16MB of the 32MB chip.
I didn't know there was an issue, I kept the original dump (which I thought was fine). I then pursued the script method to remove the password and get in to manufacturer mode, but this didn't work once flashed back to the chip. I then flashed the original dump back and still doesn't work. After googling and browsing this site I realised the dump was supposed to be 32MB and obviously this is the reason why it failed.

I have a CH341A arriving tomorrow.

I realise I may be out of my depth in rebuilding it myself, so wish to ask for help with this. Many thanks in advance.
