    Vizio E65-E1

This forum has been helpful in fixing a previous Vizio TV I have. I picked one up off Facebook Marketplace for free. I took it apart and have been trying to fix it, but have hit a stop point.

When I got the TV it wouldn't turn on at all, no standby light or anything. The last TV I fixed there was an marking on the board for standby power. This TV didn't have anything marked like that. There was a 3V/5V pin on the main board. I wasn't getting any power on that pin, so I ordered a new power board. I put the new power board in and it didn't make any difference. I read that I needed to test the PSON pin and I have 5.13 Volts.

After more research I figured it was the Video board. I put the new video board in and plugged the TV in. Right away the back lights turned on and I thought I found the problem. I ran around to the front of the TV and the back lights turn off. The stand by light comes on and then slowly fades off. Then and the standby light comes back on and slowly fades away again.

After it fades away the second time, the light doesn't come back on.

Thoughts? What do I test from here? Any help would be appreciated!

You will get a lot more help if you upload good clear pictures of the whole backside of the TV showing all the boards and how they are connected together, that will be the starting point so we can see what we are dealing with.

As much as I research, there doesn't seem to be many who have had problems with this tv.

        Any helpful pointers?

Power supply board has marking for each pin of the connectors, so what are the Voltage readings for each one of those pins when TV is off and when power switch is activated?
You MUST PUT DOWN PIN NAME AND FOLLOW BY THE READING FOR EACH PIN so we can easily see what it has and does not have.

I will hook a meter up and get those numbers. The tv powers on without the power number being pressed. After cycling on and off a couple times, it doesn't turn back on.

I don't know how accurate the numbers will be

Finally got around to it. I only got the one reading as the tv powers up and then turns off. It cycles that way a couple times and shuts off.

                12v/16v. 19.23
                3.5V/5V. 0

                  Re: Vizio E65-E1

So I haven't messed with this tv on a while. Today I plugged it in and the tv lit up and displayed the Vizio logo. Then shut back down. I tried holding the power button down to cycle the tv and then plugged it back on. Then the tv lit up and displayed the Vizio logo. Then it brought up a grey screen and was doing setup. The tv shut off and I haven't been able to get that far again.

I have a new main board and new power board. I get the same thing no matter if I put the old or new power board in.

It appears the only way to get the tv to power up to the logo screen is to hold the power button and plug tv back in.

From what I can tell all the board appear to be working. Does it appear the power board doesn't have full power to keep every board powered?

If you resolved this issue, what ended up being the problem?
