Re: Need help with resistor value please

That is what I thought, nothing to backup. It's funny that you do not even know what FB is. I wonder if you ever fix power supply board, able to read schematic and fix it down to component level.

Thanks for the judgments, but please leave writing.. Do you...Do you.. its kinda of personalty attack would not help you and other whom read when the talk about BAD DESIGN, NOT WRONG DESIGN at time you are not who designed this boards .. and here are the differences.
Any respectful Brand when they found ..there are fault / matter the same happened always at end customers they will look at it and issue different Rev. unit/ boards. or write procedure change/ replace/add/ remove certain parts to the service center, and this what we did over and over.. because the practice at end users are the best judgments on parts Type/ Value and design. that's why i will never defend any brand because its normal matter happened over all manufacture.
ob because its Vizio your blood boiling over here... cool down ..i think its not yours matter if i can or cant repair or read schematic.

"Original 621-PR1007G-T" 621-xxxxx is Mouser P/N, it is Fast recovery diode.
"Replaced with 1N4007FFG" that is standard recovery diode not Fast recovery diode used in switching power supply. 1N4007FFG is the number Digi-Key crossed for me.

        3) So what is printed on the R9114, what is the resistance value?
From that link, the blown up in the picture one looks like 1R0 (1 Ohm). Can't make out what's printed on the resistor R9114.
When TV is turned on, more current will flow through that resistor due to current drawn from PFC and SMPS circuit.

You need to check the resistance between GND and the VCC pin pf the PFC IC9801 and the 12V/24V SMPS IC9201 to see if they show low Ohms value or not.
I hate to ask this of you budm, but I'm not good at testing components on boards unless it's something simple like a capacitor. Can you please give me more detailed instructions on what I need to do? Thank you for your help. It is very much appreciated.

LOL! Can't repair, can't read schematic but able to tell the manufacturers what parts to removed or changed to, LOL! Have you ever done real failure analysis? And yet you said using such low Ohm resistor in power supply circuit does not make any sense. Did you tell them (Samsung and LG) to remove and change all those low Ohms resistors since it is BAD DESIGN since they sure use a lot of those low Ohms resistors?
          Good luck in your work.

            1) Again, I still like to know what the P/N as printed on the body of that diode.

            2) Remove that diode and test it in both directions in using Ohm mode.

            3) Look at the P/N as printed on the PFC IC9801 and the 12V/24V SMPS IC9201 so I can look up the spec sheets.

1- you have time till end of this year to show me TV HD or above Res. PWB with Rsense used yours lovely 0.12Ohms

2- compare this threat model PWB at same section within any Vizio newer model to see where and how they add FB to the same section we talking about.

3- and the last we don't have yours Vizio over here and i am not aware of Korean brands shit too..

See spec sheet of the FB.

SAMSUNG BN44-00859, BN44-00980E. Samsung uses BBxxxx designator for Ferrtie bead inductor, LG and VIZIO (board not made by VIZIO) use FBxxx as designator.

So Samsung and LG are KOREAN BRANDS SHITS?

Now show me SCHEMATIC and the good clear pictures of YOUR power board that you have.

I show you the proof, where is your proof?
Show me the schematic and the pictures of the board?
So you cannot provide your proof? you fools!

Do mean to teach us like this thread here? Telling OP to take screen apart without performing testing, telling us we cannot use force on to test the backlights?
People should read this thread below to see the history.

It cannot be 0.518 Ohms if you did use Ohm mode, it looks like you use Diode mode not Ohm mode as I request.

"2) Remove that diode and test it in both directions in using Ohm mode. .518 in one direction and no reading in the other direction. I guess this means the diode is good, correct?" Did you check using Ohm mode?
It cannot be 0.518 Ohms if you did use Ohm mode, it looks like you use Diode mode not Ohm mode as I request.
Sorry, I did use Diode mode. Which ohm setting do you want me to use?

So you are not going to provide YOUR SCHEMATIC and Pictures of the boards? Too much of a COWARD, Right? That is what I thought, a fool that does not understand circuit, do not know what Ferrite bead inductos are used for, don't know how to read schematic.
You should leave this thread alone so I can HELP the OP, you are not providing anything to this thread. Telling OP to check FB, LOL!
BTW, the bn44-00980e is REV 1.1 2018, you SHOULD learn how to read the prints on the board.
