help me, Dell 7567 compal la-d993p 1.6v on power button

Hello, I am here to ask for help with a Dell inspiron 7567 laptop.

having the cmos battery disconnected, the laptop turns on without giving a video signal, then turns off and doesn't turn on anymore, just disconnecting and reconnecting the charger.

I have the sources of 3 and 5 volts_alw but only 1.6v arrives at the power button

on RE31 which is +RTCVCC I have 3.0v but on the other side of RE31 which is POWER_SW_IN# I only have 1.6V

    RE31 is a 100k resistor, and it's ok.

I found the schematic and the board view in this thread

    https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=81570

can someone help me to find the problem, i will be very grateful

    Remove all power.

Check the resistance to ground of RE31 (pin #2) on the side that is 1v6.

What is the resistance reading ? Also post the scale used on the meter.

Hello, thanks for answering, I did it and there is no resistance

Configure the meter into diode mode.

        Remove all power.

Red meter probe (yes red) to ground.

Black meter probe to the same test point.

What is the diode mode reading?

          I attach the readings

            Diode reading is healthy.

            See attached.

The same switch lead goes to this APS CONN. Can you remove the cable or connection to remove the load on the RE31 resistor ?

Then check if the voltage level is restored or not @ RE31.

In JPW I do not have the flex or the power button connected

In JAPS there is no connector, only the pads.

So it sounds like it is coming down to the EC controller @ UE1.

Wait on others to comment but it does not seem correct to have this lower voltage on an INPUT pin to the EC.

Also, the VIO for this controller is 3v3 so 1v6 is not correct.

You can try to remove CE12 (capacitor) and confirm if the voltage level changes.

I have removed CE12 but it was still the same voltage 1.6.

I have removed RE47 and 3.0v has passed through RE31.

I have measured RE47 outside the motherboard and it shows 10k

                  I have 3.0V at ec pin 127

                    That is strange.

Remove all power and check the resistance to ground of RE47 (both pads). If RE47 does not go anywhere due to empty connectors on the logic board, it should not impact the final voltage @ RE31.

At this momemt, RE31 & RE47 are building a resistor based voltage divider.

I have changed RE47 and I already have 3.0v in the power button, and it already turns on and off from the power button.

Thank you very much for your help @mon2
