But they still have the best picture AND much more reliable than Samsung.

Not sure about reliability and wouldn't want to start a war here ALL of them can fail just as well

Not hard to deduce, just look at the Samsung to Sony ratio of people needing help on this forum and others.

True, but having worked in a Sony center for a short while, I've seen a LOT of Sonys there....Granted, it would probably the same in a Samsung center as well, so it's not an accurate comparison...

Our 2009 ccfl gets about 16 hours a day, going strong excellent picture, white whites and black blacks.

Taking a few steps back, I came across this. Ironically, I DID this before to enable BT audio on my 32 incher, so I'm curious if it works on this new one too, to not only enable BT audio but also allow me to pair the old smart remote.

Samsung sell about four times as many TVs as Sony, there's bound to be more failures.

Well, I did some digging and managed to get half of it going: I unlocked bluetooth audio and even managed to pair my old smart remote....sort-of: the "Wii-mote" style accelerometer doesn't work (only the buttons do) and I think this is due to the fact that it doesn't support bluetooth "HID", since I have no option to pair a bluetooth mouse/keyboard either and the remote is a mouse at the end of the day, I think....
