Any idea what power adapter this thing uses?

Not sure what you call this thing, but what it does is turn water into a cool fog kinda like how LN2 looks when it boils

The power adapter has been lost for over 10 years, i do not know if this thing uses low voltage AC or DC, guessing it uses at least 9v and at most 18v
there is no marking on the housing that says what kind of power input it uses

First thing is what is the voltage rating on the capacitor by the power jack
Second what is the part number of the ic chip by the power supply jack
Third thing is there a rectifier or a diode near the power jack

These two repairs where found with a ESR meter...> Temp at 50*F then at 90*F the ESR reading more than 10%

2 Hem Saw Computer Stack Board

All of these had CAPs POOF

An ultrasonic mister with what look like LEDS around the edge.

They are DC, usually 24v with some of the smaller ones being 12v.

Thanks, i have several adapters on hand, just did not know what i needed to wire to the thing to make it work

I see rectifier by the switch, the cathode is connected to the + of filter cap, so check the Voltage rating of that filter cap.
What is the P/N of Q3 right next to the dc Jack/filter cap? it may be Voltage regulator IC.

Tired 12v dc, it pulled 1.8A and it looked like it was not enough power to fully turn on
I'll see if i can get that off the pcb later today

Do you have a adjustable lab power supply

If so set the amperage for 1.5 ( do this is with the leads shorted together) and slowly adjust the voltage until the device works correctly but be careful doing this but do not go higher than the capacitor rate voltage next to the power supply jack

So what is the Voltage rating for the filter cap we asked for?
                1.8A @12V seems to be a lot.

Re: Any idea what power adapter this thing uses?

I have an older one (without LEDs) box says AC24V 1.3A and I thought it came with a heavy AC adapter with transformer. Newer ones use smaller 24VDC 800mA SMPS adapter. You can search "12 LED mist maker" many say "24VAC/DC" so I don't think it matters.
Don't run these without an 1/2" water over the disk or the shutdown stays on.
