The E version is very popular at eevblog. See

      https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testge...-uni-t-ut210e/

Some people have modded it too I believe.

If it were cheaper, I would consider one for parasitic car battery drain testing. Right now, I use a Fluke 87 for this test, but sometimes it would be handy not to disconnect the battery.

Thanks for the info, looks like I will save money and will get the 210E for my birthday in December.

Re: UNI-T UT210D/210E Digital Clamp Meter

nice, you can edit the eeprom in it to get 10,000 count instead of 2000 and also change the order of stuff.
so for bench work you can have it start in DC or if your an electrician you can start in AC
also re-order the Buzz/ohms/diode/cap sequence and mess with the timers for the backlight and auto-shutdown

Re: UNI-T UT210D/210E Digital Clamp Meter

If i could have my D turn on to DC that would be sweet.

i dont know the D version, but if it has an 0660 6000count chip, so it should be doable.
you need to search for a breakdown of the eeprom contents.

i reversed a lot of the E version with the 1106 chip but looking at a D dump it doesnt fit.

I found this https://goughlui.com/2020/06/05/proj...-eeprom-hacks/, yes I have the same IC and EEPROM so i should be able to change what i need.

Re: UNI-T UT210D/210E Digital Clamp Meter

well the way it works is each position on the rotary switch has 4 slots in the eeprom,
not all are used, but a value in a slot sets the chip mode and the mode button advances through them.

the switch also configures the input circuits - so you can only move stuff in the same switch position.
for example, the first position may be volts.
for that, slot1 may have the byte for AC, slot2 DC and the last 2 slots empty (00) so you would swap those 2 bytes over,

the eeprom contains cal data - so NEVER use someone elses dump and always keep a backup of yours.

this will help more than your attachement i think.
