    Re: Ltec Caps

I truly don't belong on this forum because I don't have the knowledge of the typical member, but I had to register so I could post to this.
So my PSU failed and I replaced it. It was a 430W Antec Earthwatts. It's powered two computers and has pretty much been on continuously for twelve years (bought in 2008). I tore it apart to see what was inside and I found a large Aishi, a couple of Rubycons, CapXon, nichicon, Taicon and Ltec. Googling Ltec is what got me here. I don't know what failed. None of the caps were bulging or leaking. Anyway, I'm impressed with the life I got out of that thing. Cheap or not, those components held up.

      Welcome to Badcaps
If you want to give it a try to repair it then here are two good threads to get you started:

      https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=37779

Otherwise yea, that PSU has had a good run, sometimes even low tier caps can last a long time!
Other times it takes just a year, it's all down to luck really

In a AcBel 12V 3,33A PSU it blow away the electrolytic capacitors in output - 2 pcs 1000uF 16V Ltec. I replaced it with 2x low ESR Panasonic 1000uF 25V and it works well again
