Re: Lg led projector burnt led driver

[QUOTE=Diah;977455]i never wrote words not repairable.. just we agree that those pins had no soldering trace on boards which can be jumper to the correct points.

Oh thanks for clarifying that. I have no idea with budm mentioned this "It is going to be real hard to get the IC pins to make good connection with the solder pads."

As far as I know, jumper means to connect the pin with an electrical wire directly to the right smd component.

I don't think I will have any problem doing that.

budm concern are correct and serious issue too not only about the IC Pins.. but the board how it carbonized specially the back side.

this boards are sandwich and it had many join points between the top and the back side. ( look on the remarked color )
so need to look and inspect clearly to let your work bring successful result.

BTW: the area under the IC should be isolated by isolation tape.. and the pins which missing soldering trace ,you can extend them before you start soldering the IC on boards.. also wish you good luck

That board may be more than 2-layer board (top trace and bottom trace), if it has inner layers, then the carbonized section may damaged the inner layers.

Oh that gooey stuff? That's not burnt pcb, there is a thick thermal pad on the 3 resistors which I removed and some of it peeled off.
You can see it on the upper part of one of the three resistors as well.

          Nothing it's burnt there.

First of all, are you trolling? That's not what Diah pointed out.

              Second AGAIN are you trolling?

I ALREADY TOLD YOU THAT WAS THE OLD PICTURE PRIOR CLEANING THE BOARD!

This is the picture taken after I cleaned up with rubbing alcohol.

The only burnt part is the one on the texas instrument led drive.

What did you do? YOu saw me answering the focal fire post after 5 years and then came looking for my other posts in my profile just to troll me?

hold on.. LOL take it easy.... any one give point here its kind of help.
carbonized points removed by cleaning not always mean its just dust on such sandwich boards..
                https://www.badcaps.net/forum/attach...5&d=1595975599

could you please trace the bath of pins 3 &4 ? it show they go under the L carbonized points budm mentioned before.. if its go under the L this L should be removed and inspect the trace under.. any short happened before could cause more again..

we just want you to be successful with yours work on LG PROJ.

There are no "carbonized points" on the board. Just 4 damn ic solder points who disappeared after the short.

I have enough. I think I will manage by myself like I did many other times. I am just wasting time with people who see something that it is not there.

I have reported him and I will just ignore him from now on.

As I specified, I have it in front of my eyes and I can see no other burnt points apart of the usual 4 pins on the led drive.

I am gonna take a better picture tomorrow.

                          Took better pictures.

Please note again. The last picture shows the 2 thermal pads which left those gooey marks who you assessed as "carbonized traks and pads".

the thin one goes beneath the led drive chip and the thick one above the 3 white resistors (where the residues are). They are parallel mounted as I think the 3 resistors heat up quite a lot.

If they are still not clear I will try to find the generic macro phone lens I have somewhere in my house.

                            By all means.

Sometimes I get a bit frustrated. The last 4 months has been really stressful at my workplace.

                            I apologise.

So it looks like 5 can be bridged. 8 and 10 go to respectively c506 and c505 and probably pin 9 to c504 on the back.

                              What do you think?

from last photo i guess the following
10 share pad of 12 &14 ( need to scratch the end little more to see if its go to the right where 12 14 conected

                                9 - c505

5 / 8 - they look connected to downside via the place which under the ic ( need to scratch the area of 5 & 8 at the while line of the IC remark to see if this correct guess )

I have never done traces in my life this way, which tool do you think should I use to scratch the traces open? Fine sand paper?
