XFX Radeon RX 560 burnt power

    Hello everyone,

I have XFX RX 560 (RX-560D2S VC.4) which has burnt mosfets and power control unit. After disconnecting the power supply from the core after desoldering the chokes, the resistance on it is about 1.2 Ohm. Does anyone know if this is the correct resistance for this gpu? I wonder if it is worth fixing it.

In addition, I wanted to ask if anyone has a boardview? The card has burned a few more smaller components that are hard to identify.

Thank you very much for your help.

Re: XFX Radeon RX 560 burnt power

Low GPU resistance is quite normal. You could measure some more trace pairs on the PCI-E connector going to the GPU. If they all measure similare, chances are the GPU is fine.

BUT: you have some severe burnmarks on the MOSFETs. High probablility that they have fused to the PCB and maybe damaged other PCB traces. Only way to know: desolder the MOSFETs. If you can without too much damage (and pads intact), you may be able to save the card.
But remember, with this much MOSFETs failed, the PWM controller most certainly failed too.

Dunno about boardview, but schematics of other RX cards have similarities.
