Samsung LN55C630 LCD - Not powering up properly

Hello everyone, I have this Samsung LN55C630 TV which upon being plugged in attempts to power up but fails. The backlight turns on for about 3 seconds during which the screen is usually black but once in a while it shows some glitched imagery with widely spaced vertical lines, and then turns off for about 8 seconds before repeating. The red LED on the front of the panel is blinking, but it also responds to inputs from the front touch buttons like say pressing Vol+ will make the LED blink rapidly.

I found that disconnecting the mainboard connector (C201) to power board connector (C802) forces the CCFL backlight to stay on indefinitely which means at least the backlight and backlight driving circuitry seems to be working.

I probed connector C802 while it was power cycling and found the following voltages:

I found some users reporting with this model that cutting jumper J854 on the power board resolves a bad strobing or flickering issue so I decided to cut it on mine but it did not change anything.

I also attempted to plug an HDMI source into all the inputs but was not able to get an image on the screen while it's stuck in this loop.

I'm leaning towards T-CON at this point but still have some uncertainty.

The fact that your backlight stays on with the main board disconnected pretty much says you have a main board failure. Replace that and you should be golden.

Thanks for the feedback! I thought maybe there was hope for the mainboard since it's still sending out an HSYNC signal and seems to be responding in some way to user input but it is a fairly complex board with many failure points.

Can we see the pictures of the whole backside of the TV showing all the boards?

I swapped the mainboard out and the TV now starts up with its little startup sound, and it stays powered on but the picture is as shown below. The displayed image is jumping around erratically and it's not looking so good.

I also just realized the mainboard I just ordered is model BN41-01436C but the one from the TV is BN41-01436B and the new one is dated about a year and a half newer.

You could try a firmware update for your set. Don't know if it will solve the problem but may be worth a try.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

As it turns out one end the LVDS cable going to the TCON board was not making good contact. I reseated both ends and it works perfectly now.
