I've Elitebook 840 G4. When it turn on its say "Protected by HP Sure Start" - doesn't even allow to go into BIOS setup. Asking for admin password. Also, doesn't boot from the USB drive. Is there way to save this laptop by your solution?

Hey guys..
Great to see this community still going.. I ain't been around in yonks..
I have an Elitebook 840 G3.. I'm trying to unlock the bios.. I purchased a CH341A programmer and a soic8 clip but the bios chip has no legs to clip to.. I believe this chip style has a name but I'm not sure.. Is there another clip I can buy so I do not have to desolder?. I'm not confident and would probably ruin the laptop..
hi guys i have a hp elitebook 840 g6 that needs the bios password removing. i dont have the chip reader and just wanted to confirm will the programmer mentioned on the first page work with this model or do i need a different one before i order

Others have just soldered wires but Ch341A is probably one of the worst programmers to do it with. I always unsolder wson8 because it's the quickest and cleanest way.
That is the same kind of chip I have.. wson8.. no legs.. do you have any tips to desolder this?.. do you use a hot air tool?.. settings if you have them?.
Thank you for the reply..
Also just to add have you seen the wson8 clips?.. 6.4mm pin gap.. do you think something like that would work?.
