    dell vostro 15 vegas/turis 15341-1 91n85 no start

hi, on this dell the water has fallen and no longer lights up, on the board there are several oxidations on some pwm, there are still 3v and 5v, connecting the power supply it turns on for about 5 sec the power led then goes off but pressing the on / off button does not light up, I noticed that the pwm charger pq4401 ISL88739 is very hot, in this case it must be replaced anyway or is it heating up for other reasons?

    thank you

clean the mb with isopropyl alcohol, remove all corrosion and then check resistance on all coils first before powering on-thats the basic concept on water damage mb. Its wrong to power a mb with liquid spill without first cleaning it. Btw, thats charger ic may be bad itself.

unfortunately those who gave it to me had tried to turn it on, also I believe it also had the battery inserted, I know that in these cases you must immediately remove the battery and power supply, so in this case it is to replace the pq4401, you know if there are equivalents or you have to put own ISL88739?

AFAIK, There is no alternative to ISL88739. So you need the same IC.

You can either use an ultrasonic cleaner to clean the board from all water damage or some IPA alcohol but you need to make everything is well cleaned.

Then make sure to check for short & any component that may have gone bad ( burnt or blown ) ....

As for your IC getting hot , i suggest you replace that and then check that area for short after doing so.

          Keep us updated

replace the ISL88739 make sure the board is clean.. maybe the ic is busted that is why its heating up... make sure there is no short on the voltage rail and also try to look for open circuit fuse or 0 fusible resistor..

            try this schematics https://www.badcaps.net/forum/attach...9&d=1591843490
