    MSI GX-700X model.: MS-1719 ... missing parts

Hi everybody. The best will be when I start this story from the beginning. Long, long time ago around 12 years back in the past I bought my first notebook from hard earned money. It was a brand new MSI GX-700X. I was happy with that. The 2 years warranty time has gone without problems and believe me a day after when I plugged in the charger it made a bzz and I have seen a bit of a smoke from the laptop. It was died in my arms! Unlucky I was a few thousand miles away from my home. At this time I used to be a truck driver, so all the time on the way ... after 2 weeks I arrived home. I had to choose, send it to the genuine MSI service what was far away in Poland, so not in my country ... or universal service what was around 50 miles away ... or take it to the GUY /only 6 miles/. Try to figure out what I have chosen #? Yea right... After 3 days the GUY told me that the motherboard is gone, it is unrepairable ... only one way is to change the motherboard, but it is not cheap... so I better bought a new laptop and the old one I dropped to the garage. Few weeks later our PC was gone. I was not home, so my parents asked the GUY if would be possible to check the PC. Of course ... he wanted to change the hdd, gpu, ram, psu .. after a call with parents I was angry, told him, take back the computer home ... can't be so many bad parts in one PC. Again I arrived and after a look in the PC case I have seen a damaged bridge cooler and damaged gpu. he made that maybe with a screwdriver or something like that. I was shocked! What a ... ! After I changed a gpu and a win reinstall it was everything all right with the PC, we use that this days too /it was 100% only software problem/. Yesterday I cleaned the garage and I saw my laptop, after disassembling I was again shocked. He ripped out 9 pieces, not desoldered noo, ripped out parts a few smd capacitors and resistors, he stole my small subwoofer, one screw, the right upper foot of the bottom, the IR card and at the end the best the Turbo Flash Memory Card. What a specialist. Oh and I found the real problem in laptop, only 2 smd coils are burned on a separated pcb plate where is the dc jack socket located . The motherboard is not shorted.
I found the schematics, but for the version 1.1 and my version is 0D. Don't know, maybe the ripped parts are the same on the both versions. What you think? ... and want to ask if someone could help me identify this 2 smd coils, because I can't find any info about them. I attach the pictures of this masterpiece.

i would say, just try it.

The missing parts at the small board could be just ferrit beads. check resistance between both sides of LA2 and LA3. When they both measure around 0 Ohms, i could be right. Howewer you can also replace the Subboard, if you want. i'm pretty sure, it's this one: https://www.pchub.com/msi-ex700-ms-1...s-1719a-p61815

And regarding the other missing components around the Intersil controller. Sizes of the SMD-Componentes seems to fit. Just order and solder it. Maybe you're lucky and you're getting a fully working board as reward...

    Kind regards

    PS: Sad story... :o

Thanks for your post! You are right, the missing parts are ferrite beads. I measured the LA2 and LA3, the resistance on both is between 0,3-0,4 ohm. Maybe I will buy another board or a fully laptop ... I have seen one on the netshop for 69 euro but someone was faster like me and it was sold.

Could You please help me with the identification of the other parts?
PC96: 470P50X0402 - This is a 470 picofarad capacitor, maybe 50 Volts and the smd measurement is 0402. I am right? What is the X letter there?

PC89: 0,1U25Y - This is 0,1 microfarad capacitor with 25 maximum 25 Volts? What is the Y letter?

      PC102: 270P50N - 250 picofarad / 50 Volts. What means the N letter?

      Thank You.
      Mit freundlichen Grüßen Michal

Glad to Hear from you again.

I'm pretty Sure your findings about Capacitance, Voltage and Size are correct.

But the Characters... I'm Not Sure, Maybe Just Placeholders.

Some of the more experienced Schematics user Here can explain it for Sure.

        Greetings!
        srdečný pozdrav

          Thanks
I hope someone can write the secrets of this characters!

We have here one proverb ,, The good priest learns till death " and I think , I know that is true.

Yes this is a sad story, unfortunately not all the people are good but fortunately are here some good too like you ... me too, if I can´t help, sorry it is not going, but if I can ... I am happy

Here is an interesting video about ferrite beads: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81C4IfONt3o ... till now I could not believe that it makes that filtering so good.

Few days back I ordered some sample books from China, this week they should arrive so I am very curios how will the laptop reacts after reassembling the missing parts. Hopefully You will be right with a good working board
