you have 3.3v, but 5v..you have voltage on the bios chip .. give more details.

there is no voltage on the bios chip or spi, on the battery there is 1.2V while on some components there are 1.5v

disconnect the battery and try to start the unit using the adapter...check all the coils for voltages.. and post it here...bios ic must have a 3v vcc to function correctly.. check also the rtc bios battery.. disconnect the ram then power on,,

if you cant see voltage in the coils try to look for short circuit to ground..check the 19 power rail..3.3v alw and 5v alw.. those voltages must be present to power on the unit..

there are inconsistencies between the diagram and the mainboard do not match the components

I got a tricky one today in the form of a macbook air A1466 820-00165-A that will recognize the charger and turn the light green then back to orange and the fan will spin constantly, but the system won't power on. The screen never turns on, it doesn't make the bong noise it's supposed to, and pressing the power button doesn't do anything. When I took the board out to visibly inspect it I only found one spot of corrosion on the bios IC. I pulled the chip, cleaned it and the area with IPA and put fresh solder on both and put the bios chip back on, but when I went to test it again it still does the...

When plugged in (no battery installed), the battery light on the motherboard lights up and then turn off. When powering on, the same and light and the power button also light up in a white color but no output on the display. It stayed like that for a few seconds before shutting down. I also seem to ruined a connector that connects to the WLAN, 2 USB and audio board, the same board also have a melted 2062A IC. I will post pictures in the reply section

ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING — Board not powering on properly
                            by ShadowAi12
                            Hi,
I recently bought an ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING motherboard that was listed as "dead, not powering on." However, it does show some signs of life. I've performed several basic measurements and would like to share the results.
                            • The board enters a "ready to power on" state after plugging in the PSU.
                            • Pressing the power button increases power draw.
                            • Sometimes, touching the RSMRST_L pad with a multimeter probe causes the board to shut off and return to standby.
                            Measurements:
(taken after pressing the power button, while the board is attempting to start)

How can I be sure that my EC chip is dead?
                            by double_DD
                            Hi all,

As the title suggests, how can I be sure that my EC chip is really dead?

I've recently gotten into this hobby of laptop repairs, and have successfully brought back to life a couple with some easy fixes, mostly shorted caps.

Now I'm working on HP Probook 455 G8, that had some "devil" run around on 3V line, burning a bunch of stuff. Luckily I have a dead 455G7 (for spare parts) so I managed to fix it (swapped burned parts) to a point that it will charge (both on barrel jack and usb-c), but it doesn't want to turn on. There is a 3V3 on a keyboard...
