    Apogee ADC linear psu

Hello, I'm scratching my head with this somewhat simple but weird problem - have Apogee ADC with turn-on problem, sometimes it powers up but mostly not, found out there is no 5V supply. Linear ps so what can be easer, no? Originally there is 29500 5V 5A regulator, with it beahaviour is odd, sometimes it works (1 out of 10), but mostly not so for test purposes replaced it with 78s05cv 2 amp regulator, all good, works with or without load, so put in place fresh lm1084it and now it doesn't output 5V even without load. Is it dodgy regulator again or something i'm overlooking? Of course I can solder back that 78s05cv and test but board is very fragile, already lifted few pads without overheating them.

garbage in garbage out, make sure your input voltage is also in range, if not you won't get output either...

Check the pin out of the lm1084it, It is not the same as the 29500
