              Hi all
Have been micro soldering for a few years now. Chip programming for a few less (Car radios and vehicle security codes etc. Used to mess with old CRTs now into more modern monitors etc

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

                Hi,

I have a background in electronics tinkering going back 40 years.

Last 20 years doing mainly IT support, have owned a couple of repair shops in that time but mainly software and modular repairs (HDD replacement etc) with some board level stuff - DC sockets, graphics chip reflow etc.

Looking to get more involved in component evaluation/replacement going forwards, so I can repair more stuff, throw away less and generally feel better about my results

                Looking forward to getting involved!

I'm entering the world of electronica, I'm loving it but I still need to acquire a lot of knowledge, I can already see the world that is electronica and its complexity.

I hope that being part of this community you all will help me to grow.

                                    Hello
I'm 40 years old with electronics, I've always been interested in electronics, but I went into the profession of an electrician. But my chobbi is electronics of all kinds. I like to tinker for hours, if I manage to fix something, it's great.
My biggest things repaired was Lenovo chrome book 11" on the OS system - it required disassembly and assembly of a new memory chip, because I did not want to reinstall the system from a pendrive in any way, after transplanting the new bone, everything works. The second repair was successful after many hours spent with Lenovo ideapad 14" re-programmed bios and laptop lives to this day. the rest of the things are small things like usb sockets or something like that. Now I would love to learn how to repair graphics cards.
                                    Regards
