Both are possible but I'd modify 16MB only.

I obviously answer smiley60 since I'm quoting him in my post, and it's obviously is an answer to smiley60's problem.
It doesn't concern you in any way. There's no need to spam the topic!

Hello RethoricalCheese,

I just want to confirm that I understand the process of Unlocking the BIOS AKA Clear BIOS Admin Password using your tool.

1 - I first need to read/exctract the current BIOS Config (BIN file) with the CH341a programmer with a SOIC8 SOP8 Test clip.

2 - Drop the extracted BIN file onto your RCUnlocker. It will do it magic and create a new BIN file.

3 - Using the CH341a programmer with a SOIC8 SOP8 Test clip, write back the new BIN onto the BIOS. The Admin password should be remove.

Is this the right step overall?

I have a HP EliteBook 820 G3 that I forgot the Admin password...

Cheers and thanks for your help!

Exactly. But step 4 would be to reset security settings in bios.

When drag the bin file to the exe file, I got this error message.
The application was unable to start correctly (0x00007b).
Did I make any mistake?

Not sure. Upload your file, somebody can unlock it then.

They use completely different code so doesn't help much. Do you have all of the files in folder like they came from the rar or did you copy it somewhere else without other files included?

Hello there.
I have a HP Elitebook x360 1030 G3 that has its BIOS password protected.
If I understand correctly, the only way to attempt to unlock it is to dump the bios to a file and use your tool, and the only way to dump is physically with an adaptor clip to the BIOS chip inside my laptop. Correct? Or are there ways to dump the bios without physical / adaptor use.

Appreciate your time
