    HP 15 inch LCD vs-15 no backlight

    hi i have a HP vs-15 lcd monitor manufactured jan 2007

    it powers on but no backlight

    you can see the graphics with a flashlight

    here is a pic of the baord

    any ideas what to check..?

    Does the backlight EVER come on, or is it totally dead?

    While your picture is a good start, I can't make out the brand name of any of the caps. That might give us a clue.

    Also, a picture of the back side of the PC board would be good as well as a reverse angle shot of the front. I'm particularly interested in a fuse in the inverter area.

        I second that.
        PlainBill is right. Cap data and pictures of both sides in different angles might help (specially to look for fuses as he mentions)
