    Marantz sr5200/u1b static noise DSP?

I have a Marantz sr5200/u1b AV 6.1 receiver that is making a static/crackling noise out of the front right channel. It goes away when source direct is engaged in analog mode, but it's always there in digital mode whether source direct is engaged or not. Also, the noise is absent when the 7 channel direct inputs are used. All the fuses, and caps on the main board and input board are within their rated spec. I've read that most receivers run an A-D-D-A configuration, so I'm thinking this has something to do with the DSP function? Can somebody point me in the right direction? Any help would be much appreciated.

I bought a USB oscilloscope, but when I compared signwave of the right vs. left channel, I can't see any difference between the two, even though I can audibly hear the difference. Is there a way I can use the scope to isolate the static? Or is there another way I can trace the static? Anybody?
