    Advice for installing aftermarket inverter...

Hello, my first post here, so go easy on me. I have an "AVT4028" generic universal inverter (http://www.creatall.com/html_product...verter-45.html) that I would like to install in an Acer H243H. The monitor has a hissing problem, which I checked all the capacitors, and didn't find any problems. The screen also will go black within a few seconds, due to this problem. So I'm guessing it might be in one of the high voltage transformers...but just installing a "new" inverter, bypassing the original one seems like the easier way to go for me.

My question is, there is a pin called "adjust" on the inverter, (for brightness I assume) but I don't have any idea what that would connect to? It is shown in the pictures in the link, and if anyone could help me, thanks in advance!

There is a great possibility that the 'hissing; is caused by Backlight/Backlight wiring problems, and not necessarily the inverter.Provided you have the voltage from the main board ,and the Ground on the correct pins, then with the old inverter in and a signal applied from a Pc just look for a voltage of approx 3Volts DC on the On /Off pin,if that is the same pin on the replacement board, then do not wory about the adjust at this stage, just fit it and see if the hissing goes away.

In another thread a guy had the hissing noise you talk about. Same model of monitor too (Acer H243H).

Turned out to be the power board. Not the inverter.
