Acer Aspire Bad KB Power Button and Trackpad Not Recognized

Acer Aspire Nitro VN7-792G. Motherboard part number is 448.06A11.001M. After attempted upgrade, owner mangled kb ribbon and appears to have shorted something else since trackpad is not detected. For KB, I was able to solder a switch to the power pins. But I'm not sure how to track down issue with trackpad. Examining the area in microscope, I did find one small ceramic cap with a burn mark on it (see 2nd pic where highlighted) which I replaced but trackpad is still not detected.

Check the emi filters from data lines for continuity. Do you have 5v on trackpad connector.
