    Reason for this different CPU and OS is to get away from microsoft's requirements for XP is extremely limited specs. 1GB and Atom. :P Atom cpu has been with us for just 2 years and is not going higher in clock (2GHz) while one can bump up the memory but only to 2GB. Can be severe limiting in some cases. The biggest reason is panels had to be 600, most people prefer enough vertical resolution (1366x768 or higher so don't have to work around with tray and web browsing, working with window stuff too.)

      idk... for ubuntu, my 1000HEB does well. remember the atom has HT, so that makes 1.6ghz less underpowered. it will even run TORCS on performance mode. i like it.
