Technika 40" LCD -- Back into Standby

    Hey Folks.
My dads Technika is having some issues. When coming out of standby the blue standby light goes off as normal and the screen comes on for about 2 seconds before turning back off into standby mode.

Much to my puzzlement I have replaced both the power supply board and mainboard, and still have the same issue. The parts were cheap and I can probably re-sell on ebay quickly, at least.

Could it be the inverter? I thought that would manifest itself in image distortions rather than a power on-off cycle, but what do I know!

Your ideas would be much appreciated.

I don't have the TV with me so I made this diagram of the backside of the TV and the parts it uses.

this could be a faulty inverter transformer or a faulty ccfl tube maybe start with testing the transformer windings what the part number from the transformer

Another one of those SSI400WA16 inverter board.
        Samsung LJ97-00998A (SSI400WA16) Backlight Inverter
reece has good info on that repair.

I would disconnect the cable to the inverter board to see if the TV will stay on with input signal.

Ive serviced a few of this chassis, they are so bulky and massive for an Lcd ! Also do what bud says and disconnect the inverter see if the set comes on with no backlight. Also Id advise you keep all the other parts as the Psus on these Ive seen a few blow up as the inverter uses alot of juice 200w into it to be exact then 70-90 for the rest of the parts !

Thanks for all the pointers and help guys, what a great community.

Tomorrow, when I go look at the TV again I'll try removing the ribbon cable on the inverter and see whether it stays powered up. I'll let you know the results. Currently following the rabbit hole of links regarding this inverter, and enjoying it more than I should.

I know this is an ancient thread but I've just found that removing the button board on a technika 39 c273 solved the same problem, haven't a clue why but as soon as I plug it back in again the tv starts turning off/on

This means that one or more buttons have internal resistance (leakage), change all the buttons on the board and solve the problem.

I tested all buttons with a multimeter & they all showed the same readings

Leaky buttons won't show on a basic multimeter test, the keypads are multiplexed and sometimes it's a really retarded way like having an ADC read different voltage levels from different resistors in series with each switch. Just replace all the buttons and it will work fine again.
