Hello, community!
I have a Noco Boost car charger that does not charge. It's a Noco GBX155. I've tried providing 5 and 12 V for hours, but it draws 0A. I've also manually charged the cells in the battery pack, which are about 13V (there are 4 (4V) cells, I believe). All the other functions work fine: boost, torchlight, turns on and off.
I looked around at the caps, diodes and resistors and could find nothing unusual. The charging IC is an Intersil. There were no holes, and the pin out/in seemed okay.
I did give the Intersil chip some heat to reflow. A day later, it is now taking 0.18A. I'm unsure if this is related to the reflow attempt.
I've uploaded a short video showing what happens when I attempt to charge. A red error light (according to the manual) begins to flash-this light flashes white for fast charge. Again, no amps are drawn.
Anyone with the knowledge to help or provide a schematic or service manual. I've asked the company, but no dice.
Thanks
LM
