Good heavens! I haven't laid eyes on one of those (well, actually its compliment, the SG3527) in (mumble, mumble) years! The two ICs are improved versions of the venerable SG3524. One of the improvements was totem pole output drive pins. Another, IIRC, was improved dead-time control (to prevent destructive cross-conduction). It's a nice mature voltage mode PWM IC.
