    Acer e5-571 work for a seconds

    Hello folks .
    Have this Acer e5-571 LA-B991P power only for a couple of seconds.

    After doing the basic tests (visual inspection, CMOS battery 2.6v, voltage on the power on button, changing memory ,try another dump) nothing is suspect.

    I take this measurements :

    Before swishing power button : 3/5 vALW are present.
    After swishing power button , i take this voltages many times since the lab work only for a seconds :

    PL 502 = 1.375v (Ram)
    PL 602 = 1.060v (VSP)
    PL 802 = 1.708v ( Cpu Core )
    PL 1202/1203 = 1.030v ( Vga Core )
    PL 1002 = 1.307v ( +1.5VSDGPUP )
    PL 302 = 3.170v ( Batt+ )

    Any other suggestion !

    Update :
    Using diode mode to take the impedance on all the inductors .

    PL402 = 0.352v
    PL404 = 0.390v
    PL502 = 0.322v
    PL602 = 0.128v
    PL802 = 0.065v
    PL1202/1203 = 0.072v
    PL1002 = 0.007v...is it my issue !
    PL302 = 0.522v

      Update 2 ...any help !

      CMOS battery 0v...that's weired because i measure before = 2.6v!

      pin 100 = RSMRST = 3v present
      pin 13 = PLT_Rst = Not present
      pin 6 = SLP_S3# = 0v---1.09v---0v
      pin 14 = SLP_S5# = 0v---1.3v--0v
      pin 123 = SLP_S4# = 0v---1.09v--0v
      pin 32 = PCH_PWROK = 3.32v present
      pin 95 = SYSON = 3.36 present
      pin 122 = PBTN_OUT# = 3.3v ---2.95--3.3v
      pin 21 = VCCST_PG_EC = 3.3v present
      pin 97 = ENBKL = 0v

      j8 = 3VALW_PCH = 3v present

          Hi , I am not a technician just a computer engineer , in my opinion CMOS battery is not needed to power up system so CMOS battery there to just keep date and time settings, Your problem is related to heating issue of the CPU , check thermal section for better understandings . I have shared what i know and experienced in my previous laptop , heating causes CPU to turn off after few seconds to save it via thermal signal system.

            R70 = RTCRST = 3.35v from 2 sides
            R69 = SRTCRST = 3.35 /3.30

              Thank you Stingerchamp , but it's a general concept and not working with this motherboard.

              mclpslg : as you ask about VR_ON signal.

              Pin 1 = PU801 = before swich on = 0.020v and after 1.060v.
              Same voltage for pin 2.

              Pin 1 OHM resistance to GND = 21.8Kohm

                Re: Acer e5-571 work for a seconds

                Resistance on pin1 of PU801 seems to be fine. May be VR_ON could'nt rise to 3.3V as the mb trips off in very few seconds. Since you have some activity on VR_ON signal, SOC is likely to be alive. As i highlighted the fact that VR_ON on this architecture rises from SOC and not KBC. But i dont have any further idea. To me it appears still a shorted cap or bad IC which prevents it from turning up to S0 state.

                  Hi did you solve the issue? I have the same problem, in particular I have seen

                  SLP_S3# = 0v -> 1.09v -> 0v
                  SLP_S5# = 0v -> 1.3v -> 0v
                  SLP_S4# = 0v -> 1.09v -> 0v
