Re: How to replace nec/tokin OE128 in laptop motherboard?

1st, please see the pictures below care fully.

1st picture shows the situation of my laptop's damaged NEC/TOKIN 0E128.
    2nd shows 330 d cap, means smd capacitor of 330uF and 20v.
U can see that there is blank spaces for capacitors left and right side of the NEC/TOKIN, and two caps of 330d already putted near the blank spaces which shows in pictures.
I want to know that, can i add two more caps of 330 d in blank spaces because theres plus and minus lines are same? (or any other 2 caps, means 330 g,330 e, 220 g or 220 d. [there, words g, d and e show voltage of caps] . Becuase,i hardly found only these types of caps from another dead motherboard, i cant found 4 caps of 330 e but i have 3 of it)? Instead of pull offing the damaged NEC/TOKIN. Will my problem is solved by this?
    Please help me quickly.
I am waiting for ur replies.
    Thanks.

you try to remove a tokin capacitor with a heat gun?
      thats a plastic cover
      just rip it off slow.
Just cook it! It's already broken.

                Please be serious.
Can i use 6 caps of 220uf and
4v in the place of nec tokin or 4 caps?

Remove the NEC Tokin with pliers before you do anything. It could be shorted.

check if you have enough room for 6x220uf.. you can put those but i don't think it can kick the power all the way up, it might glow as a bulb but not bright as it used to be. lack of powers may be. try and discover it yourself.. remember, we are adventurer.

(save some bucks for a new mobo).....

If the caps are low ESR, then yes, they will work. (where did you find them? If they were by the CPU in the Vcore section of another motherboard, they will be fine)

Also, on all the L300 boards I've used - the two positive strips are common to eachother and the two ground strips are common to eachother. So you could put 5x220 on if you really felt like it. A lot of people seem to think there has to be the same amount on both sides.

I found them from another dual core laptop motherboard and they were putted near the processor.

                              They will be fine then.

But, Many persons suggested 4*330uf,2.5v. But i have only 3 of them. Can i use 3*330uf,2.5v and 1*220uf,4v? Or 5*220uf,4v will be best according to you?
                                Please response me quickly.
                                Thanks.

Either of those combinations will work. 4*330 is often suggested but it doesn't have to be that combination - I've done 6 of these repairs and used all kinds of combinations. The ESR is fine, the capacitance is fine, the voltage is fine - I can't see any reason why that wouldn't work.

I think 3x330 + 1x220 will be best though, since it reaches greater than 1200uF.

But different voltage is not matter? 3 of 2.5 v and 1 of 4v?

I putted 5*220uf,4v(according to ur 1st suggestion) but when i press power button, all indicators on but for a very short time about 1/4 second and off again and i hear a voice like 'tekk' near hdd. When i press power button again and again i observ that again and nothing show on lcd.
                                      Now what i do?
