I have marked two sets of pins on the inverter transformer. One red pair and one white pair.Measure each pair using the restance range on your meter and advise.

      Transformer is unsoldered and mesured:

      Red pins show 1.976 kOhms
      White pins show 0.894 kOhms

Looks like you need a new transformer...check Ebay with the number on the top of the transformer

Question: Did you know what is the proper value for mesuring a new transformator (what is the normal range ohms)?

Thanks for help and when i will received my parts and repair it, i will let you know for any status on that.

                . D1, D2 are tied together internally.

The AP has much lower current spec.

No, not the same body case as the STU.
                    Get them from EBAY?

Yep! I was reading this post and not check the correct # on the board. I has another model # than other member here. So i had order it without double verification.

Its new but can't install it. I will order the proper one.

                        Hi,

I had order the transformer TM-0815 and received TM-10160. Did someone know if they had an change on an new specs?

                        Because specs are différents.

TM-0815 is Secondairy 875 ohms and TM-10160 Secondairy 940 ohms. It will not fit?

After waiting over months (parcel lost from China),(wrong model sent from an eBay user) and also another lost parcel that arrives 3 months after, i had soldered the new transformator TM-0815 and everything is back to LIFE :P

Yes sir! The monitor works again!

Thanks to everyone that help us with your guide.

I have this same model and issues. Capacitors are bulged and bad. As newbie listed in his post on caps numbers on board:

                                newbie:
Cap A - don't know what brand, dark blue color, what i can see is W0C PET, rating hidden below, 4x11 (estimated mm as i am using ruler, not calliper)
                                Cap B - Samyoung, NXB 330uf 10V, 7x10
                                Cap C - Samyoung, NXH 1000uf 10V, 10x12
                                Cap D - Samyoung, NXB 820uf 25V, 10x20
Cap E - don't know what brand, dark blue color, what i can see is WF W9C PET, 47uf 50V, 6x10
add: oops i just noticed while typing that i missed C116, i think its the same size with C114 (Cap A) but light blue in color.
What would be good replacements for these - Panny FM, Nichicon, or Rubycons MCZ ?

just wanted to chime in to thank badcaps.net and everyone in this thread. I was able to quickly and cheaply repair one of my broken monitors because of others had recorded their model specific trials in detail and left me bread crumbs.

Replaced the infamous inverter transformer in my 2233sw for under $15 and it fired right up!

                                    Thanks guys!

                                      another 2sec to black - Samsung 2233bw

                                      Hi all!

I'm trying to repair my Samsung 2233bw lcd and i ran into dead ends.

Symptoms - after powering on, backlight turns off after 1-2 seconds.

All caps looks good (didn't test them becouse I don't have equipment to test capacitors).

All diodes and transistors checked good.

                                      Inverter transformers:

                                      Transformer 1 - pins 1 and 3 = 1104 ohms
                                      - pins 2 and 4 around 3 kohm

                                      Transformer 2 - pins 1 and 3 = 1108 ohms
                                      - pins 2 and 4 around 3kohms

What else could be the problem?

                                      Thank you in advance
